Regional Lab Advisor Job Opportunity in Ethiopia
ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader located within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Regional Lab Advisor. This full-time role will be based in Ethiopia-Gambella and will involve supporting the design and implementation of laboratory programs in the region.
Responsibilities
The Regional Lab Advisor will be responsible for various aspects of the laboratory program, including viral load specimen referral and testing, DBS sample referral and EID testing, quality RHT, AHD laboratory screening services, and overall quality assurance for the Gambella RHb/Gambella Regional Referral Lab. The successful candidate will work closely with culturally diverse partners to ensure effective coordination and collaboration.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Hold an MSC degree or above in laboratory science or a related field from a recognized university
- Have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the country, including laboratory support for HIV programs
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a demonstrated track record of working on US government-supported PEPFAR programs, including program planning, monitoring, and evaluation
- Be experienced in working effectively as part of diverse staff teams and collaborating with donors, host-country ministries of health, and civil society
