The Indian Embassy in Addis Ababa is seeking suitably qualified candidates for the following open positions.
Over 2000 years of recorded history can be used to trace the centuries-long economic and commercial ties between Ethiopia and India. Indian traders had connections to the ancient port of Adulis in eastern Ethiopia during the Axumite Kingdom. They exchanged silk and spices for gold and ivory.
Business ties between the two nations have expanded dramatically in recent years as a result of Ethiopia’s economy opening up, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, infrastructure projects, and agriculture.
In 2022, Ethiopia and India’s bilateral trade was valued at USD 2.8 billion, of which Ethiopia exported goods worth roughly USD 80 million. In 2021, there was USD 1.8 billion in bilateral trade between Ethiopia and India, of which roughly USD 75.13 million came from exports from Ethiopia (Source: National Bank of Ethiopia).
Primary and semi-finished iron and steel products, medications and pharmaceuticals, machinery and instrumentation, metal products, etc. are among India’s top exports. Pulses, precious and semi-precious stones, vegetables and seeds, leather, and spices were among India’s top imports from Ethiopia. With 10.2% of all trade with Ethiopia, India is the country’s second-largest trading partner.
Position 1: Language Expert
Minimum Qualification:
Graduate, preferably with a degree in English language from an accredited university; outstanding fluency in both spoken and written English; Ability to speak Amharic: Knowledge of Ethiopia’s regional languages would be beneficial, as well as having good communication and skill sets. knowledgeable about social media and computers; The ideal candidate would have previous experience in a field similar to this one.
The applicant should not be older than 40.

Position 2: Executive Assistant
Minimum Qualification:
Earn a degree from an accredited university; possess a strong command of Amharic and English; Understanding Ethiopia’s regional languages will be advantageous. strong ability to communicate; adept at utilizing social media and computers.
The applicant should not be older than 40.
Arrange and preserve documents, files, and records; easing of administrative procedures for representatives of the Embassy; Communicating with different Ethiopian government offices; any other tasks that may be delegated.
Starting Salary (will be paid in Birr equivalent): USD 350.000 per month + 14% of allowances.
Position 3: Multi- Tasking Staff
Minimum Qualification: Preferably 10 years of formal education with hands on knowledge of public dealing. office assistance, gardening
etc.
Cleanliness and upkeep of spaces as required; gardening; ability to carry out necessary liaison work in utility offices and other necessary support in this regard; any other work, as assigned.
Starting Salary (will be paid in Birr equivalent): USD 175.000 per month + 14% of allowances.
