Eligibility Criteria for Chevening Scholarship 2025:
- Applicants must be citizens of Chevening-eligible countries.
- Chevening scholarships are open for students from 160 countries. You can also check your country.
- Applicants must be applying for eligible courses. You can find the information about the courses here.
- Applicants must fulfill the course requirements.
- Furthermore, they must return to their home countries for a minimum of 2 years after completing the scholarship.
- Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree that can enable them to pursue a postgraduate program at a university in the UK. It must be equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree in the UK.
- Students must have two years of work experience equivalent to 2800 hours.
- Apply for three eligible UK university courses and receive an unconditional offer of one of these options.
You are not eligible for a British Chevening Scholarship if:
- Have dual British or British citizenship (unless you are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or have BN (O) and submit your application from Hong Kong).
- Refugee status in the ineligible country.
- Is an employee, a former employee, or relative * of an employee (since July 2018) of His Majesty’s Government (including British embassies / high commissions; Department of International Development; Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; Department of International Trade Affairs; the Ministry of Defense; and the Ministry of Interior), or a staff member of the Commonwealth University Association.
- Employees, former employees, or relatives of employees of Chevening Partner organizations are eligible to apply. Still, they cannot receive a Chevening Partner Award from the organization they work for or worked previously or are affiliated with through relatives.
- Applicants who previously studied in the United Kingdom are ineligible.
